Mother's Day

We had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend. Jeff had to work for most of the day, so that might not have been so wonderful, but I got to spend a good chunk of the day with my Moosman family. I am so lucky that my mom and my dad's side of the family are close and still hang out to this day; weird concept for most separated parents. Last week I got a text from my aunt saying that they were going to have a Mother's Day brunch at her house and to bring my mom with me. So we went!

It was so much fun to sit and talk to everyone and meet all the new babies I hadn't seen yet. They are so so sweet and precious. I'm so happy for all my cousins to be starting their new families. My grandma told me these baby makes 43 GREAT grandchildren and 1 GREAT GREAT grandchild. Can you believe that!? Crazy. We found out that my cousin Chelsea is now 3 months pregnant and expecting her first child! Congratulations Mason and Chelsea you will be wonderful parents!

We ate and chatted for hours with everyone. Then all the talk about babies started another activity somehow... Baby Gender Predicting. Oh goodness. All the girls got together and with a long thing of floss did a test to see what gender and how many babies you would have. Basically you put your wedding ring on the string and then someone holds it above your palm and if it starts to rock back and forth its a boy and if its in a circle a girl. Pretty simple, not very scientific. But if you looked at all the faces watching each girl do it, you'd think it was a life changing and most accurate thing in the world. I love my family and enjoy spending as much time with them as I can.

I spent the rest of the afternoon with my mom and grandma just hanging out in the living room. Then that night I went to Jeff's house to celebrate with them. We had an amazing dinner and tried some swiss chard (not anyone's favorite, but fun to try). Then we opened presents and just sat and talked. I love days I don't have to do anything, but spend time with those we love. Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers!

Beautiful Saturday

Ever since being engaged I haven't had a day that didn't involve doing something towards our life that starts in August. I am so grateful for this past weekend was exactly what I needed. This weekend I got to spend the whole day Saturday with Makaela, who I never get to see. We went to Jordan and Chelsea's wedding in the afternoon. It was a beautiful reception and Chelsea looked amazing. I can't believe it how just 9 years ago  Chelsea and I would walk from each of hour houses to meet half way and then walk back to our house. Throughout high school and football Jeff and Jordan were always together. We are so happy for them and I know they will have a life filled with love and happiness.

The rest of the afternoon was spent running errands and getting presents for Mother's Day. That night we went to another reception for the adorable couple Jon and Ashley Feller! The reception was so cute and it was so fun to see so many people from high school. I'm pretty sure the whole night was filled with old friends catching up on what we have been up to since graduation. Sad how you lose contact with people you used to see every day, but that's life. The reception was beautifully decorated and filled with love. I love seeing all the high school sweethearts have lasted throughout the years and are now getting married. I know its supposed to be rare, but our class is defying all odds. I love it!! Wedding season has begun and I'm getting more and more excited for my day!!
The rest of the night was spent with staring at the clouds on Makaela's tramp and soaking up the good weather (that only lasted about another 2 hours.) We stayed up till after 2 am talking about boys, memories, the future, and more boys. I have surely missed Mackers and wish she wasn't staying in Dixie till the fall. Exciting new about Mackers, she GRADUATED with her Bachelor's degree!!!! She is absolutely amazing and has a Bachelor's degree just after turning 21! I'm so proud of her and of course jealous! This is a cute "yard card" her mom did for her, which of course embarrasses her.
Cute idea huh?
Congratulations to Makaela and all the newly weds!!!

Wedding Slacker

I have slacked on the wedding planning... in fact I think I didn't do anything in the month of April about the actual wedding day. I got side tracked by planning for our home and just daily life. So on Saturday I decided I needed to do something... and something that would make a dent. I met with the reception center's wedding planner and we ironed out a bunch of details. Followed lunch and meeting with the invitation lady. Oh dear. I didn't think it'd be a big deal, but there was so many designs and fonts and papers, oh my. Well we got all the wording for the invitations and inserts done and picked the paper. I haven't decided on a font or which of the five styles I want (will decided when I pick our engagement pictures for the invites.) I also have the dates for our engagement sessions and bridals figured out. Hooray!! So here is what I accomplished on Saturday:
  • Wedding Day Schedule
  • Reception Food
  • The brunch menu
  • The luncheon floor plan
  • The reception floor plan
  • Set appointment to meet with the florist, cake lady, and last invitation
  • Plus we have started registering, I'm indecisive and its a problem.
  • Decided on a honeymoon destiation. Whoot.
Well I still have a ton to do, but I feel like a major dent was made. Thank goodness.  I do need some good ideas on where we can do our engagements. We get 3 locations, I already know one and its a secret, but I want something that's different and romantic. Any ideas? Please help.

White Bunnies

Since I am my mom's only child Easter hasn't been all that exciting for years now. Actually, I haven't been home for the last 4! Hahaha. For some reason we have always been in Vegas for the last 3 Easters; Jeff included. Well this year we were home, but Jeff had to work a 13 hour shift!!! Goodness, I don't know how he does it. (In case you didn't know he is the hardest working employee. He works 4 days in a row, all 12+ hour shifts. Poor guy.) Anyways I hung out with my mom and got a pedicure on Saturday and a new dress for church/work. After Jeff finally got off work we ate an delicious meal with Jeff's starving family. Jeff's sweet parents included me on a family tradition: white chocolate bunnies. Apparently, for every year since they had kids they give each a white chocolate bunny. Nothing big, but sweet of them to include me with a sweet little card.

Well this cute white bunny made me start thinking more about traditions. I always thought of traditions on Christmas and Thanksgiving, but never really for other holidays. So here we go another blog about traditions. I'm so excited to start my own family traditions. What are you Easter traditions that you want to keep in your family. We never really had many in mine and want there to be some when we have kids. Any ideas? Do share.

Playing the Waiting Game

So this week has been a major week of sorts... we found 4 different places that we love and put offers down on. The first is a cute little condo in Pleasant Grove, which when we put the offer in we were told another offer was in and we were a back up offer. Turns out nope the original offer never actually got submitted and ours got sent into the bank! The second place is this amazing townhome in a new development in Lehi, this is our favorite but there is 2 more offers above ours. So we'll see. The next two are actually in the exact same community in Orem. They are right by the school and are very exactly what we were looking for. We were the first on one of them and our offer got sent into the bank and the other we are the back up offer. So here we sit waiting to hear if any of them got accepted. Bad news is it could take up to June 30th to hear back from all, which would mean we would be moving stuff the week of our wedding. Not ideal I wanted to be moved in earlier and so Jeff won't have to commute to Utah County for work. Boo. Working with short sale properties really sucks for the waiting process, some people have taken over a year to get finalized. We really only have 4 so I'm crossing my fingers. So beware when dealing with short sales, the major benefit is you save a TON of money compared to regular listings. But who knows what's going to happen.... I'll keep it posted.

How MSN Messenger Changed Our Lives Forever

Isn't it amazing how one day changes your life forever, without you knowing it at the time. On April 14, 2005 it was the first night of spring break my freshman year of school. There were parties going on all over and I was spending the week at a friend's house. I had been texting Jeff sporadically for the last few months and we had only met briefly one night in the dark. Nothing major. He had texted me that night asking if we could hang out that night, being 15 he couldn't drive so my friends and I went to pick him up from a Bountiful high party. We went back to my friends house and decided to watch a scary movie, Jeeper's Creepers.

I remember thinking how awkward it was, because I hadn't hung out with Jeff before and he acted kind of weird. We were sitting on the couch talking and he laid his head down in my lap. Seriously, how weird is that! Oh the awkward opposite sex moments of our teenage years. Anyways, we ended up talking more and cuddling towards the end of the night. We texted all day the next day playing the infamous question game over text and hung out every night. On April 18th he asked me to be his girlfriend, over msn messenger I might add, and I agreed. A insignificant night and decision over msn messenger that would change the course of my life forever.

We just celebrated our last dating anniversary at 6 years. We will be getting married exactly 4 months later. I honestly cannot wait to be sealed together for all eternity. I love you honey and I'm so happy you grew out of that awkward teenage boy ;-). We have so many exciting adventures just around the corner! Love you forever and always. Happy Anniversary
